21st May – International Tea Day

To emphasize the world-wide economic and cultural significance of tea, at the end of last year the United Nations designated 21st May as the International Tea Day.

Tea cultivation and processing is the main source of income to many families around the world. Some of the biggest tea producing countries, however, are among the poorest of the world. The aim, therefore, is to increase the demand for tea, foster sustainable tea production and improve its value chain.

21st May 2020 is the first time to celebrate the International Tea Day across the globe. Many tea organizations were making public announcements, releasing special newsletters and holding special live events. Let’s mark and remember this day for the many years to come.
