Dai Osaka Ochakai 2025

Dai Osaka Ochakai is a tea festival in Osaka, organized entirely by volunteer staff. Its sixth edition took place on 18th-19th January, featuring over 40 vendors.

Attendees could bring their own cups to sample teas from various regions. This year, the festival showcased a remarkable selection of unique and rare Japanese teas, including wakocha, oolongcha, and hakucha, though the presence of traditional Japanese green teas was noticeably smaller. Additionally, many international vendors participated, offering teas from China, Taiwan, Vietnam, and even Colombia.

Pottery enthusiasts had the opportunity to find exquisite tea utensils from both Japan and abroad. For those eager to deepen their knowledge, the festival also hosted tea workshops and seminars, covering topics such as chashaku-making, tea blending, and more.

A fantastic event for tea professionals and enthusiasts alike. We are already looking forward to the seventh edition next year!
